Isara's Alliteration Poem

We've been learning about some of the features of poetry. One of these features is alliteration. Alliteration is the repetition of an initial sound, for example, Isara ate electric eels. You can use alliteration to give your poem a mood or feeling. The mood could be scary, silly, happy almost any, it just depends on what words you choose. Here is a number alliteration poem from Isara. Calvin and Wyatt also have alliteration poems so why not listen to all three!

What Does Joy Feel Like?

Well, just listen to Jonita's sense poem and you'll find out what joy feels like to her! Jonita's brother Crusader wrote a sense poem about anger last year and now Jonita has written one about a completely different emotion. They may have written about different emotions but one thing they have in common is that they're both great writers.

If you want to write your own sense poem just follow this format. Think of an emotion first and then brainstorm what colour it reminds you of, what it would sound like, taste like, smell like, look like, feel like, and what it reminds you of. Use the format below and you'll have an awesome poem to share.
video

What colour is your emotion?

__________is __________like___________
What does it sound like?

It sounds like___________________

What does it taste like?

It tastes like_____________________

What does it smell like?

It smells like_____________________

What does it look like?

It looks_________________________

What does it feel like?
It feels like______________________
What does it remind you of?

It reminds of____________________

If you're really creative you could change the format or add more to it.

Here's Crusader's poem from last year...

A Simile Poem About Me

Similes are often used in poems to emphasize a point. You could write about yourself if you like you just need to brainstorm some ideas about what you are like ( fast, slow, loud, quiet, beautiful, clever, funny, silly or even crazy) and then think about think about things that remind you of that quality. Here is a simile poem written by Tyla. video
